Recent physics graduate Liana Bonanno has recently been named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar. As an undergraduate, Liana was on the Ohio State women's ice hockey team and was the starting goaltender during her junior and senior years.
Seventy-three Buckeye student-athletes have earned the Distinguished Scholar Award from the Big Ten Conference, the largest group of recipients from any school. The newly-established award is given to student-athletes who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.7 for the previous academic year (excluding summer school). Recipients must be letter winners in at least their second year at their institution.
