PHYSICS TRANSFER CREDIT EVALUATION

Course specific transfer credit for the Department of Physics is handled through Dr. Edward Adelson, Room 1036 A Smith Laboratories, 292-2067, email: adelson.2@osu.edu.

In order to evaluate your transfer credit for specific courses within physics, the following items are needed:

• An "Ohio State Transfer Credit Evaluation" form or "Ohio State Additional Credit Evaluation" form that was sent to you by Admissions at Ohio State, or both when credit on both of them needs to be evaluated. (You will have an Additional Credit form only when more than one transcript has been sent to Admissions.)
• Sufficient information about your physics courses to be able to determine their content and level. This can consist of Assignment Sheets or syllabi. If your college has a web site with this information posted on it, you do not need to have printed information. The course descriptions in some colleges' bulletins list both subject matter and math requirements. Other bulletins are so vague as to be essentially useless. When web sites must be consulted, you can help greatly by finding the web site for your college and finding out how to get to the course information on that site before seeing Dr. Adelson.

If you have not kept any such information and it is not posted on the web, you will have to obtain this information from your previous college yourself. You can contact your previous university's physics department via email if their web site provides appropriate information as to whom to contact. (However, we may have a previous evaluation for the course on record. In that case, no information is needed.)
