Abstract

The 4.1 sigma W+dijet excess announced by the CDF collaboration this spring generated a wave of excitement in the particle physics community. While this signal has not yet been confirmed by other experiments, the issue is not settled. Whether there really is new physics behind the 'bump' or some overlooked systematic, understanding this signal is an important, necessary step for precision hadron-collider physics. In this talk I will review the signal, explain the subtle, yet important differences between analyses, and offer one possibility for what new physics could be behind the excess.
