Recent progress of SVT/SSD calibration and the STAR upgrade program for direct charm/bottom measurements
Spiros Margetis (Kent State University)
The STAR experiment at RHIC uses a four layer central silicon
detector (one layer of strips and three layers of silicon drift
detectors) for secondary vertex reconstruction. Any attempt for
a direct reconstruction of secondary charm (D0) vertices
(ctau = 120 microns) puts stringent requirements on Alignment
accuracy and drift velocity calibrations. We will report on
recent work as well as on STAR' upgrade plans to future measurements.
