    Topics to be covered:
    First Law: Conservation of energy, thermal equilibrium and temperature
    Second Law: Entropy, heat and the direction of time
    The Ideal Gas, the Einstein Solid and other simple many-body models
    Interactions and Universality
    Engines and Refrigerators
    Free Energy and Chemical Thermodynamics (several topics in book skipped)
    Boltzman and Statistical Mechanics (here it finally makes sense)
    
    
    Meeting Schedule:
    Four days each week at 9:30 am (MWRF) in Smith 3094

    0th order Grade Weighting:
    Homework [20%]
    In-class exams [3 x 15%]
    Final [35%]

    Homework is due by 4:30 pm Wednesday. Turn in to students at Physics Department front desk.
    Late homework will be accepted through Friday morning, but you lose 25%.
    Graded homework returned in class the next week and solutions posted here.
    Corrected homework due for partial credit one week after graded homework is returned.
