    Introductory Quantum Mechanics III
    Text:
    Quantum Mechanics, 2nd Edition, by David J. Griffiths

    Topics to be covered:
    Degenerate Perturbation Theory & Atomic Shell Model
    Variational Principle & Helium
    Time-Dependent Perturbation Theory
    Scattering Theory
    EPR & Bell's Theorem
    Quantum Computing basics (time permitting)
    
    
    Meeting Schedule:
    Four days each week at 10:30 am (MWRF) in Smith 1009

    0th order Grade Weighting:
    Homework [25%]
    Midterms [3 x 25%]
    1st order corrections to Grade Weighting:
    Correcting homeworks and tests
    Optional paper (no more than 3 coauthors, 1st draft due May 30)
    ---possible topics (any simple application of QM in atomic, condensed matter, nuclear, ... physics, quantum computing)

    * Problem Sets

    Homework is due by 4:30 pm Friday. Turn in to students at Physics Department front desk.
    Late homework will be accepted through Monday morning, but you lose 25%.
    Graded homework returned in class the next week and solutions posted here.
    Corrected homework due for partial credit one week after graded homework is returned.
